Statement
My drawings and paintings, function as a portal to a sort of own imaginary, which in its diversity, it is also collective. Throughout my artwork, I can activate and bring to life a unique narrative, by reminiscing about different places and sensations. I create familiar environments, depicting intimate scenes with single characters surrounded by silence and a palpable solitude which permeate across the my paintings.
Through the act of painting I record my own existence, where the shapes, figures and spaces I create become part of my little universe.
The place of the object in each artwork, enhances a personal dialogue of intimate stories, creating disturbing stories of ambiguous landscapes and fragmented figures that live in a space
My artwork moves and unfolds around visual narratives in which, instead of obsess me on precision, I choose to reminisce lived experience, since I’m mostly interested in developing those tranquil interiors into touching, meaningful themes.
I often use images reflected on a mirror as a cathalizer for the exaltation of self. It is as if the character was going through a sort of psichoanalitic experience. In that space, the mirror exists just to bounce back an image, apparently, but I am questioning also if the image is just a reflexion or if, instead, both figures hold the same meaning.
Although I also work on small formats, the larger pieces allow me to truly explore and capture the vitality that overflows my imaginarium, through ample strokes, vibrant colors and layers of paint, regardless of the theme at hand. Both gesture and expression are vital, as they are stable elements throughout my artwork
